Information for the Pharmacist

In Quebec, according to their Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice all pharmacies are obliged to take back expired medications. Pharmacists must ensure that drugs and sharps are disposed of in a manner that meets legal and environmental standards; in addition, they should ensure that medications are safely disposed of and separated from other pharmaceutical waste.

  • All Prescription drugs
  • Over-the-counter medications, oral dosage
  • Natural health products, oral dosage
 

Not Accepted

Please check with your pharmacist or household hazardous waste events for other products

  • Sharps, needles or syringes
  • Cosmetics
  • Empty pill bottles
